"A world of friends is a world of peace."
Friendship Force International is a nonprofit international citizens exchange organization with 350 clubs in 58 countries. It was formally chartered in 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia, with the aid of President Jimmy Carter. It is NOT a tourist program, but provides the opportunity for persons throughout the world, independent of national politics or religious groups, to become ambassadors for their country.

Our local club, The Friendship Force of Greater Cincinnati, has active members who live on both sides of the Ohio River, in Ohio and Kentucky. At our monthly meetings we have a potluck dinner and a program to learn more about various cultures around the world.
At the core of our group is a commitment to "Faces, not places," a motto which guides us in our travels and in our hosting.

Exchanges, both “outbound” (visiting another country as "Ambassadors") and “inbound” (hosting visitors from another country in our homes) are at the center of our club's activities. As an ambassador on an OUTBOUND EXCHANGE, you travel to another country, reside in a family home for one or two weeks, and share that family's lifestyle and culture. Your accommodations may be sparse or luxurious, just as those traveling as ambassadors to the Cincinnati area may find our host homes to be humble or luxurious.
We host INBOUND EXCHANGES with groups of guests or "Ambassadors" from other countries in our homes for a week. We try to share the "real" America with our visitors.
