Exchanges

\

Exchanges, both "outbound" (visiting another country as "Ambassadors") or "inbound" (hosting visitors from another country in our homes) are at the center of our club's activities. As an ambassador, you travel to another country, reside in a family home for one or two weeks, and share that family's lifestyle and culture. Your accomodations may be sparse or luxurious, just as those travelling as ambassadors to the Cincinnati area may find our host homes to be humble or luxurious.

One thing is certain, however. Your host family will embrace you as a friend; you will become an instant member of that family. A lasting and rewarding lifetime friendship across thousands of miles can emerge.

\

The Friendship Force stresses "faces, not places." Your destination is always of secondary importance in a Friendship Force Exchange. You can make new friends anywhere on the Friendship Force Map.

\ Beginning in 2006, our local club budget has money set aside for scholarships for our club members who want to participate in an outbound exchange but can't afford the total fee. See our Scholarship page for more information.

Each year Friendship Force International "matches" clubs around the world for Inbound and Outbound Exchanges for the coming year.

OurOutbound Exchange for 2006 was to Isle of Wight, Great Britain. The Exchange Director for this trip was Rachel Ekeroth

Our 2006 Inbound Exchange was from Hannover, Germany . Ward Garrabrant was the Inbound Exchange Director.

Our 2007 Outbound Exchange went to Cottbus Germany and Brosov Romania. Ward Garrabrant was the Exchange Director.

Our 2007 Inbound Exchange was from the Nor Peru club from Trujillo, Peru. Sonia Derge and Carol Fencl were co-directors.

Our 2008 Outbound Exchange visited Tblisi Georgia. Bob Derge was the Exchange Director.

\

Our 2008 Inbound Exchange will be from the Santo Angelo Brazil club which we visited. and Carol Fencl will be the Exchange Director.

\

Our 2008 Outbound Domestic Exchange will be to Connecticut. Marilyn Jones will be the Exchange Director.

\

Our 2009 Outbound Exchange will be to Australia. Dick Jamesone will be the Exchange Director.
