A World of Friends is a World of Peace
Friendship Force International is a nonprofit international citizen exchange organization with 377 clubs in 60 countries. It was formally chartered in 1977 with the aid of President Jimmy Carter. It is not a tourist program, but provides opportunities for members to visit clubs throughout the world to learn about different cultures and to make new friends in distant lands.
Our local club meets monthly to encourage friendship between members and to make plans to visit other clubs or to host visiting clubs. As an 'ambassador' on a typical Journey , you travel to another country, reside in a family home for a week, and share that family's lifestyle and culture. As a 'host' you welcome visitors into your home for a week and participate with your club in activities that showcase our area.
