Outbound Journeys

2023 Outbound Journey

Friendship Force International matched us to Saitama Japan for an outbound journey in 2023.  This is the Journey we had planned to make in 2020, but it has now been pushed forward to April of 2023.  The Journey is now full, but please contact Rella Hadley, the Ambassador Coordinator, at 513 702-0288 for more information.

2022 Outbound Journey

Our first outbound Journey following Covid was to the Friendship Force club of Utah in September of 2022.  Because the Utah club did not have enough members who were able to home-host, our Cincinnati club all stayed together in an AirBnB.  This did not mean that we did not get to know our hosts!   We enjoyed home-hosted dinners and spent the days together visiting the state capital, Tabernacle Square, the Hill AFB and Aerospace Museum, the Utah Natural History Museum, the Peace Garden, and much more. Ambassador coordinators for the Journey were Mark Bowers and Nick Sakelos.  For a report of our journey, CLICK HERE.

2019 Outbound Journey

Our club  visited the club from the  Lower Columbia region of the state of  Washington, September 17 through September 24.  The Lower Columbia area  is located in Southwest Washington along the I-5 corridor. The region extends from as far north as Castle Rock, WA and as far south as Vancouver, WA. The region is bordered by the Cascades Mountain Range with Mt. St. Helens on the east, the Pacific Ocean on the west, the Columbia River with its beautiful gorge area on the south, and Seattle, WA to the north. Our club members enjoyed the breathtaking scenery, sighting wildlife, and, of course, sitting around the table sharing laughs with new friends.

2018 Outbound Journey

In 2018 our club visited the club in Leicestershire, England and the club in Norderstedt, Germany.   The Journey left Cincinnati on August 28 and arrived in Leicester on August 29. The group traveled to Norderstedt on September 5th and returned home on September 12. Kay Atkins and Sandra Small were Journey Coordinators.

2017 Outbound Journey

Our club visited two clubs in New Zealand from October 10 through October 26th,  2017.  Beth Duff and Judy Hornsby led the journey to visit the clubs in Gisborne and New Plymouth and then planned an optional extension to the South Island following the exchange.

2016 Outbound Journey

.Our Friendship Force club visited two clubs in Brazil during April of 2016.  From April 8 through April 15 our ambassadors visited the club in Ribeirao Preto and then flew to Rio de Janeiro for a homestay from April 15 until April 22 with the club in Rio. Following the two exchanges, an extension to Iguazu Falls and the Pantanal was planned for April 22-28.  The Pantanal is the largest area of wetlands in the world and is home to hundreds of bird species  and a huge variety of reptiles and mammals.

2015 Outbound Journeys

Edmonton, Alberta Canada

Sixteen of our members were joined by four ambassadors from California in an exchange with the Friendship Force club in Edmonton Alberta from June 30 to July 6, 2015.  During the exchange we visted many historical and cultural sites in Edmonton and the surrounding area.    Following the exchange we spent 5 days visiting Jasper and Banff national parks.

Central Europe
Members of  clubs in the Great Lakes Region of Friendship Force joined together in a Special Global exchange to Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary and Slovakia during September 4 – 21, 2015.  This exchange  included a home stay  with the FF Club in Bratislava Slovakia and a luncheon with the club in Budapest Hungary.
