What is a Journey?
Journeys (aka Exchanges) are at the center of our club's activities. As an Ambassador on an "Outbound Journey" you travel to another country or US city, reside in a family home for a week and share that family's lifestyle and culture. Your accommodations may be sparse or luxurious. The members of the hosting club plan a daily schedule that may include visiting local historical, cultural, or natural sites, sharing a meal with the local club, or free time to explore the city. One thing is certain, however. Your host family will embrace you as a friend; you will become an instant member of the family. A lasting and rewarding lifetime friendship across thousands of miles can emerge.

Each year our club accepts requests for visits by other clubs from other countries or from US cities. These are Inbound Journeys. During these journeys, our club members host the visiting club members in their homes, usually for 7 nights. As a Friendship Force host you work with our Greater Cincinnati club to prepare a cultural program that shows off the best of our region. Some of the days will be spent together as a group touring sites such as the Underground Railway Freedom Center and on other days you will be free to share the pastimes you enjoy with your guests.

Journeys known as Global Journeys are open to members from any club in the world and if an Outbound Journey between two clubs has room for more Ambassadors, these journeys will often be open to you. Go to My.Friendshipforce.org to find a list of these Journeys.
